Foil, embossing, debossing and spot UV can all add impact, but they do different jobs. The best choice depends on the stock, artwork, budget and the way the finished piece will be handled.
Foil
Foil adds a metallic or specialist surface effect. It works particularly well when a small area needs to feel premium or catch the light.
Embossing and debossing
These add physical depth by raising or pressing an element into the stock. They are most effective when the paper and artwork give the process enough room to be felt.
Spot UV
Spot UV creates gloss contrast against a matt or uncoated-looking surface. It can highlight typography, pattern or imagery without changing the entire sheet.
Start with the result
Rather than choosing a process first, decide what you want the finished piece to communicate. We can then look at stock, artwork and production together.
